Analysts at Statcounter updated Rating of the most popular browsers, backed by data from March 2024.
According to the infographic, Google Chrome continues to maintain its leading position among desktop browsers, occupying 65.77% of the market. While Microsoft Edge maintains its second place with a score of 12.7%, Apple’s Safari browser is in the top three with 8.63%. The fourth and fifth places were taken by Firefox and Opera, with market shares of 6.61% and 3.16%, respectively.
In the mobile browser segment, Google Chrome is the leader with a share of 65.29%, while Apple Safari and Samsung Internet rank second and third with 24.26% and 4.41%, respectively. In fourth and fifth place are Opera and UC Browser with shares of 2.2% and 1.44%.
Microsoft Edge has only 0.3% of the mobile market, but the company is actively working to introduce extension support for the mobile version, which could help improve its position in the future. Additionally, Microsoft is actively adding AI products like the Copilot assistant to its proprietary browser.
