The third-generation Apple Pencil, which has not yet been announced, will be compatible not only with the iPad but also with the Vision Pro mixed reality headset. On this subject with reference to sources reports MacRumor’s publication.
According to a MacRumors source familiar with what’s going on at Apple, the company has conducted internal testing of the new Apple Pencil with VisionOS support. This allows you to use Apple Pencil with Vision Pro drawing apps like Freeform and Pixelmator.
There are no specific details about this project, but one scenario for using the new product suggests that users will be able to draw on a table or any other flat surface using Apple Pencil 3. In this case, the virtual drawing will be displayed in the VisionOS interface. Essentially, it will turn one’s surroundings into a giant canvas with its sensitivity to pressure and pen tilt.
According to rumors, Apple Pencil 3 will be introduced in April 2024 along with the new iPad Pro and iPad Air models. However, MacRumors does not rule out that the company will announce the device’s compatibility with Vision Pro during its annual developer conference WWDC in the summer.
