Pornhub management has banned residents of the US state of Texas from visiting its site in protest of the law requiring users to verify their age. In this respect reports NBC News.

Due to changes to the Digital Services Act requiring age verification to access adult content, Texas sued Pornhub’s parent company Aylo for failure to comply. The administration of the porn site considered the changes “ineffective” and “unsystematic” and subsequently decided to block access to users with a Texas IP address.

In addition to Pornhub, other adult sites owned by Aylo were also restricted in Texas. These include Brazzers, YouPorn and Men.com. The company believes that government authorities’ requirements jeopardize the privacy of minors, which may deter users from using illegal services rather than legal ones.

On the territory of the Russian Federation, Pornhub is opened only after the approval of a majority of the user through authorization through VK.
