A video showing the operation of fake AirPods Pro headphones with built-in touch screen appeared on social networks. The device was developed based on an existing Apple patent from 2021. reports MacRumor portal.
The fake AirPods Pro, which appeared in China with a screen in the charging box, allows users to control the features of the headphones, including noise canceling, without using an iPhone. Judging by the video, when the case cover is opened, the screen is activated and the entire interface of the device is translated only into Chinese.
The patent, which appeared in 2021, predicts that a similar screen will be included in the headphone case. This solution was supposed to help control music playback, adjust volume and much more. It is unclear whether such headphones will appear in the Apple lineup.
It is stated that the popularity of AirPods has led to a record number of fake wireless headphones in recent years. According to a 2021 report, in the first nine months of the fiscal year, the US government seized nearly 360,000 fake headphones worth $62.2 million.
Previously in the USA approved iPhone patent with additional side screen.
