The cost of video games for Russians may increase by an average of 20% by the end of the year. On this subject with reference to sources reports Publication “Izvestia”.
First of all, the increase in price is due to the change in game prices in Turkey, a region where Russians and retailers often buy copies. The increase in prices in Turkey also affects the increase in game purchase prices of Russian distributors.
“Given these conditions, the increase in prices for video games in the Russian Federation can reach 20%, which will affect end consumers,” said Emma Yusova, director of the online school in the field of game development and computer graphics XYZ.
Information about a possible increase in game prices in Russia was also confirmed to Izvestia by some retailers. One of them said that Russian prices for projects costing 6 thousand rubles in Turkey will be equal to 10-12 thousand rubles. Such a large difference is due to the fact that retailers include VAT and profit from sales in product prices.
The price increase is expected to occur in the spring of this year. So, if in Turkey the cost of a new racing simulator F1 24 is about 10 thousand rubles, in Russia the new product will be sold for 15-17 thousand rubles.
