A young Chinese woman had to use hearing aids after falling asleep while playing music through headphones for two years. In this respect reports Published by Oddity Central.
While the victim’s age and name were not disclosed, Oddity Central calls her a “young woman” and says she lives in Shandong. The woman sought medical help one day after noticing that she was having difficulty understanding her boss’s speech.
The examination revealed permanent neurological damage to the left ear. Initially, the doctor assumed that the woman’s ear was injured or that she had been near a source of loud noise for a long time. However, it was later revealed that the Chinese woman’s hearing organ was damaged because she was used to falling asleep with headphones while listening to music while she was still a university student.
“When I was in college, I loved falling asleep to music. Over time, this became a habit. “I’ve been sleeping with headphones on every night for the last two years,” the patient told the doctor.
Even though the music the woman listened to at night was not loud, even this caused damage to her ear due to the intense load. Fortunately, writes Oddity Central, the damage turned out to be relatively minor; Hearing loss can be compensated with a hearing aid.
