Japanese private company Space One has postponed the first launch of its solid-fuel launch vehicle, Kairos, carrying a government satellite. This was reported by TASS.
It was stated that the launch will be carried out from the spaceport in Kushimoto city in the western prefecture of Wakayama.
“The launch schedule has been changed. A new date will be considered,” Space One said in a statement. The reason for the delay, according to the company, was the appearance of the ship in the sea sector, where, according to experts, the launch vehicle could crash in the event of an unsuccessful launch. As a result, it was decided not to carry it out immediately.
Space One expects the next launch attempt to take place after March 13, subject to favorable weather conditions.
The rocket was supposed to launch into orbit a government satellite weighing about 100 kg, designed to observe the Earth’s surface.
Before this, due to a problem with the Alpha launch vehicle of the American private aerospace company Firefly Aerospace appeared Lockheed Martin’s military communications satellite is in the wrong orbit.
