Google is testing a new feature for the Chrome browser and the Esc key. In this respect reports ITHome portal.
The innovation was noticed in the latest beta version of Chrome Canary 124, which introduced a new switch in the browser’s address bar. Pressing and holding the Esc key allows you to exit full screen mode.
The functionality will be universal for all desktop operating systems: Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, Fuchsia and Lacros. It will make it easier to switch between different operating systems, as you currently have to use different key combinations to exit full-screen mode; for example, F11 on Windows or cmd+ctrl+F on macOS.
The innovation is in the testing phase and is expected to be available to all users in the near future. Since Google frequently tests various features that never appear in stable builds of Chrome, it is possible that the new feature will not be included in the release version of the browser.
Coming to Google Chrome in February seen Experimental AI functions, including Help me write, which lets you create and edit text in any text input field using neural networks.
