Scammers are tricking Russian schoolgirls playing Roblox into sending their photos to scammers. In this respect reports Telegram channel Baza referred to the story of the father of one of the injured girls.
One day, the father of 9-year-old Dasha received a notification that his daughter had registered on Telegram. This came as a surprise to her because due to parental controls on the smartphone, the girl could not install the messenger without permission. During the conversation with her parents, Dasha said that she did not sign up for Telegram, but gave her phone number to a new friend online.
“It turned out that Dasha lived in Likee and there she supposedly met someone of the same age. “An unidentified person who introduced himself as a girl in the dialogue took the girl’s phone number and Telegram verification code and registered an account on her phone,” Baza writes.
Later, Dasha’s father logged into his Telegram account and saw that the scammer had written to the little girls and promised to give them Roblox money if they completed the tasks. The attacker asked the children to take long videos of themselves and photos of their mothers.
“It is unknown why he needed the videos. Dasha’s father read the correspondence, disabled the account login and wrote to the children so that they could tell their parents everything,” writes Baza.
A nine-year-old girl previously gave it scammers 100 thousand rubles for game money.
