WhatsApp developers have added partial support for messages from third-party services to one of the beta versions of Messenger. In this respect reports WABetaInfo portal.

Enthusiasts discovered a menu called Third-party chats (in Russian – third-party chats) in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android under number 2.24.6.2. There are two buttons in this section: “Disable” and “Selected Applications”. It is not yet clear which applications are supported.

Thus, WhatsApp will not independently connect chats from third-party instant messengers, but will give the user an option. Most likely, you will be able to connect your WhatsApp profile to Telegram, Instagram (the owner of the Meta company is considered extremist and banned in Russia) and other instant messengers and social networks.

In this case, incoming messages will not be displayed in a single WhatsApp chat list; Instead, there will be a “Third Party Chats” menu where all WhatsApp-related services will be displayed in a separate list.

The innovation is being introduced in connection with the need for large companies in the EU to include compatibility with others in their services. It has not yet been announced when the feature to support messages from other instant messaging programs will appear in WhatsApp.

Previously Pavel Durov announcedFull monetization will begin on Telegram.
