Apple continues to work on a new HomePod smart speaker with a built-in display, but the device is unlikely to be released before 2025. In this respect reports The MacRumors publication cites insider and Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman.
Gurman reported in the new Power On newsletter that Apple is already working on a HomePod with an iPad-like display with suppliers abroad, but the project is far from complete. According to insider information, the company has not yet made enough progress for the device to be included in the near future release plan.
Gurman added that Apple is also considering developing a device that combines Apple TV, HomePod and the FaceTime camera. The American IT giant is also considering creating a “smart” screen that can be attached to the wall using magnets, like the iPad.
Although Apple is actively experimenting with concepts, there is no information about the possible launch of the listed devices. According to Gurman, Apple has been “hesitant” about new smart home products for years.
