According to the source, the folded smartphone will have the following dimensions: 155.2 × 150.2 × 5.27 mm. The new product will be more compact than its predecessor, as last year’s Pixel Fold had dimensions of 158.7 × 139.7 × 5.8 mm. It is also stated that Fold 2 will be equipped with a flexible 7.9-inch internal screen and 6.4-inch external diagonal. In the original version, the screens were 7.6 and 5.8 inches respectively.
While the back cover of the 2023 Pixel Fold will follow the design of Google’s all-in-one smartphones, the Fold 2 will offer an updated design. The main change lies in the new camera unit, which looks thicker. It will house three cameras that will fit into a pair of oval compartments. The insider explained that the fourth camera-like module is an autofocus sensor.
Another change in Google Pixel Fold 2 will be a more frameless screen design. Therefore, the front camera will be placed in a cutout on the screen, not in the top frame as in the first version of the smartphone.
Google Pixel Fold 2 presentation date is still unknown. The original model was introduced in May 2023 and went on sale at the end of June.
