Currently, large IT companies are reconsidering their personnel policies and preferring specialists based in Russia to those relocating. Ideco Director Dmitry Khomutov told socialbites.ca about this.
“The reason for this increasing trend is the labor cost. In the case of candidates from abroad, this figure is above the market average – 150 thousand rubles. For IT professionals,” said the expert.
At the same time, according to Khomutov, Russian companies are not at all ready to give up their IT relocation specialists. The main reason for this is the limited number of specialists (especially middle and senior level) living in the country with the necessary skills.
“If such a candidate applies for a vacant position, first of all, his competencies are evaluated, and then the company answers the question: is it ready to provide individual conditions and accommodate the relocated? But such concessions need to be made less and less frequently,” Khomutov explained.
According to him, today IT companies manage to overcome the personnel shortage by working separately for each open position. To do this, organizations consciously analyze salaries and increase offers to or above market levels. Importance is also given to the development of existing employees and their acquisition of necessary competencies.
