According to leaked patents, Samsung’s future flip-top smartphone will only have a single display: the built-in display. If the user needs a screen with a larger area than the original, he can expand the rolled screen using a special mechanism.

“Samsung’s upcoming foldable device essentially resembles a tablet, as seen in the images. GizmoChina explains the patent: “In many ways, the device is similar to the iPad mini alternative: a tablet that fits in your pocket but also has a huge screen, thanks to its new foldable screen and slide-out mechanism.”

It is unknown whether Samsung will bring the concept to a release device.

The South Korean giant is not the first IT company to try foldable displays in smartphone format. In 2021, Chinese brand Oppo introduced the X smartphone, whose 6.7-inch screen expanded to 7.4 inches.

Formerly Vivo presented A new smartphone with a 120 Hz screen and Dimensity 8200 processor.
