Roskomnadzor said that ways to bypass blocking are prohibited in the Russian Federation, and the ban on the expansion of such services will come into force from March 1. This was reported by TASS.
The Ministry reminded that ways to block access to illegal content have been prohibited in Russia since February 2020.
Roskomnadzor added that from March 1, 2024, a rule will be introduced limiting access to materials that popularize such tools.

During the meeting, one of the students asked Mizulina if it was true that VPN services could be blocked in Russia in March. “Yes, that’s probably true,” the president of the Secure Internet Association responded.
According to Mizulina, personal information obtained using a VPN can be stolen by operators of such services and transferred to fraudsters. This is why the government decided to block VPNs in the country.
