The iFixit expert team, which specializes in evaluating the repairability of electronics, has published a design review of the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset. This attracted attention attention MacRumor’s publication.

iFixit’s teardown of the Vision Pro reveals many of the device’s internal components, including various cameras and sensors, fans, lens motors, and more. The complex design of the device makes it clear that it will not be easy to disassemble and repair.

“EyeSight seems to be the Achilles heel of device repair — this creepy feature has many potential points of failure. But to Apple’s credit, the easily replaceable speakers and battery are a big win for repairability.” said iFixit.

Vision Pro is powered by an M2 chip with 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16-core neural processor, and 16GB combined memory. Other features include up to 1TB of storage and an all-new R1 chip that “processes input from 12 cameras, five sensors, and six microphones to make content appear as if it’s right in front of the user’s eyes.”

The launch of Apple Vision Pro in the United States took place on February 2, 2024. Apple said that the headset will be available for sale in other countries later.

Previously Russian mapping service launched Application for Apple Vision Pro.
