In the United States, a Delaware court decided to annul the decision of Tesla’s board of directors, which agreed to pay $55.8 billion as a bonus to Elon Musk, the owner and chairman of the company, in 2018 in return for managing the organization. This was reported by Agency Reuters.

“Excited by the general bullish sentiment or fascinated by Musk’s image as a superstar, the board asked itself the $55.8 billion question: Did Tesla need this plan to help Musk achieve his goals?” Judge Kathleen McCormick noted.

The court spokesman added that the amount at issue was an “incomprehensible” amount, the largest corporate settlement in US history.

The court also noted Elon Musk’s personal connections with the commission members who determined the fee amount.

Experts calculated that Elon Musk’s salary for 2021 is six times more than the combined earnings of the 200 highest-paid senior executives in the world.

Elon Musk lost his payout due to a claim from one of Tesla’s minority shareholders. The plaintiff requested the cancellation of the assessment due to the fact that the owners of Tesla securities did not receive confirmation that the businessman really deserved such money for the work he did.

Musk responded to the court’s decision with a post on his social network X (formerly Twitter) and warned readers against registering their companies in the state of Delaware.

Previously Elon Musk commented drug use charges.
