State Duma deputies regularly receive many requests from voters to block YouTube from hosting foreign videos in Russia. In this respect “I will rise” said Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Information Policy Committee and journalist Evgeny Popov.
“Yes, the number of messages from the public, including public opinion leaders, asking for YouTube to be blocked is huge,” he said.
Popov also wrote on the Internet: “Oh, how simple!” He also responded to the call of blogger Stas Vasilyev, known by his nickname, to block the service. In his opinion, the blogger has the right to such a point of view.
“The state has the right to listen to all positions and make decisions in the interests of citizens,” the MP added.
Popov also assured that “at this stage of our country’s development, impact measures such as blocking YouTube are not taken into account by the committee and the Ministry of Digital Development.”
He concluded that this situation is most likely due to the lack of a full-fledged alternative to YouTube for Russians in Russia.
January 24 Stas Vasiliev at the meeting of the Public Chamber objected Block video hosting in the country as soon as possible. According to him, the service supports dissident bloggers and deletes the channels of writers it does not like under various excuses.
Previously on YouTube’s work in Russia dead big failure.
