Phone scammers have learned how to give loans and microloans to Russians through Banki.ru, the country’s largest financial market. In this respect reports TASS quotes Diana Selekhina, an expert at the Solar AURA center for monitoring external digital threats of the Solar group of companies.

Among the leaked data, scammers find phone numbers and other personal information of potential victims. The attackers then call the person and inform them about the letter received in their name at MFC. The scammer offers to send a letter to the victim’s address, and then warns that the shipping number will now be sent via SMS, which must be announced. In fact, the victim receives a code to confirm registration on the Banki.ru website.

After registering in the financial market on behalf of the victim, the attacker continues to communicate with banks and microfinance institutions on behalf of the victim. The final stage of the fraud is the registration of loans and microloans, which the fraudsters then transfer to their accounts.

The company Banki.ru confirmed the existence of this problem and reported that they pay special attention to the information security of customers. They once again called on Russians not to share their SMS confirmation codes with anyone.

Russians before warned about scammers who may attack via video communication.
