The company Dagenergo, a branch of Rosseti North Caucasus, appealed to the owners of mining farms in Dagestan with a request to turn off their equipment with the onset of cold weather. The appeal was posted on: telegram channel “Dagenergo”.

“Dear owners of mining farms located on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan! “We ask you to think about your loved ones, your neighbors, Dagestanis like you during the cold season and to close mining farms,” the text reads.

It is stated that in cold weather, mining farms overload the republic’s energy network and cause technological disruptions.

Valery Dzyubenko, formerly director of the association “Energy Consumers Community” saidHe said that the new differentiated electricity tariff will help prevent unscrupulous consumers who unfairly benefit from their rights. According to Dzyubenko, the new difference will not affect more than 5 percent of the region’s population. The head of the association recalled that the issue of introducing a differentiated tariff was initiated by the governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, to combat “gray” cryptocurrency mining, but the mechanism has not yet been implemented in the region.
