Sony introduced new color versions of PlayStation 5 Slim at the CES 2024 technology fair in Las Vegas. In this respect reports The Verge’s edition.
There are three new colors: white, blue and red. The same ones are used in the Russian flag. The new consoles come with a matching Dual Sense controller palette.
According to The Verge, you don’t need to buy a new console to get this or that color; you just need to purchase the side panels separately. In the USA, such an accessory will cost $ 55 (5 thousand rubles at the exchange rate of January 10, 2024).
The Verge noted that the new panels have a glossy surface, which makes colors appear more saturated. The white color is closer to silver, which “causes some nostalgia for the original PlayStation.”
Sony did not announce the exact release date of the panels, but noted that it will happen “in the near future.”
PlayStation 5 is a gaming console released in November 2020. The device has sold more than 50 million units worldwide by the end of 2024.
