iPhone fell from the plane that broke up in the air and miraculously did not fall

A passenger of the famous Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9, which started to fall apart in the air on Flight 1282, lost his iPhone due to the incident. However, a few days later, the smartphone was found working on the ground. For an extraordinary story returned Attention MacRumors publication.

The victim was identified as Sean Bates of Vancouver. After landing, he used the Find My app to find that his smartphone was still working and located on the side of a highway in Portland, Oregon. Bates contacted the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and asked government officials to retrieve his iPhone and forward it to him.

When NTSB officials found the smartphone, it was lying on the grass and still working. In addition to airplane mode, a notification about Alaska Airlines’ baggage fee was also visible on the locked screen.

Even though the smartphone fell from a height of almost 5 km, there was not even a scratch left on it. MacRumors suggested that this occurred due to the presence of a casing on the device, as well as landing on soft grass.

The NTSB told the lucky passenger that his iPhone was the second smartphone they found on Flight 1282.
