The next generation Apple HomePod smart speaker may have a built-in curved LCD screen. In this respect reports MacRumor’s post refers to an insider who appears on X (Twitter) under the pseudonym Kosutami.
The new column is codenamed B720. The prototype fell into the hands of Kosutami. Judging by the photos published by an insider, the new product has the same design as the current HomePod, but with a concave LCD screen on the top. It is probably needed to control the system and display content.
In October, Kosutami shared images of components in a prototype of the future HomePod’s touchscreen. Other sources confirmed the insider’s information. That is, information from this source can generally be trusted.
Apple is believed to be working on adapting Apple Music and Apple Podcasts to a concave screen that will display animations based on the colors of the podcasts and music album covers. The screen can also display potentially important notifications, according to MacRumors.
According to previous rumors, Apple may introduce a new HomePod speaker in the first half of 2024.
