Russians prefer to buy gadgets, smartphones and computers for the New Year, but they do not want to consider subscriptions to services as gifts. socialbites.ca learned about this from a survey conducted by the analytical center Grechka Media and the company A2 Research. Thus, 41% of the participants answered that “they are always happy to receive technology as a gift.” While 22 percent of Russians preferred to receive money, 15 percent of respondents said they were happy to receive any gift. This year, 36% of those surveyed will give techno gifts to their family and friends.
If we talk about the most preferred gifts, 32% of Russians chose gadgets, smartphones and computers, while 22% chose smart home devices as the best gift. 13% of those surveyed stated that they were satisfied with robots at home.
When discussing the gifts they would least like to receive for the New Year, 27% of respondents named “subscription to AI services for business.” Among the least preferred gifts, subscriptions to entertainment services come second (18%), while cryptocurrencies and NFTs come third (17%).
Analysts also revealed to whom the Russians are ready to give techno-gifts. The majority of respondents (27%) would give technology to their spouses and partners, with 17% saying it was a good gift for children and another 15% saying they would give parents a similar gift. But Russians certainly won’t give techno-gifts to their grandparents; 20% of Russians responded this way, while another 19% said they would not give techno-gifts to their colleagues.
1,200 people from 17 regions of Russia participated in the survey.
