The iPhone 16 Pro smartphone in 2024 will receive a tetraprism for optical frame magnification when shooting photos and videos, which has become the prerogative of the Pro Max model in the current generation. In this respect reports MacRumors publication, citing its own sources.
iPhone 15 Pro Max has a tetraprism telephoto lens. By reflecting the light many times, it provides optical zoom of up to 3 times and up to 5 times on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
This year, the iPhone 15 Pro was released without the new and improved tetraprism telephoto camera. It is probably due to spatial constraints. The components required for the tetraprism camera take up significantly more space than the telephoto lens currently found on the iPhone 15 Pro, and so won’t fit on the smaller 6.1-inch device.
Apple also plans to increase the size of the iPhone 16 Pro to 6.3 inches and the size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max to around 6.9 inches. The larger dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro will provide plenty of room for the new telephoto camera.
MacRumors warns that the information provided in the post is preliminary and may not coincide with Apple’s final decision.
“The iPhone 16 Pro is still months away from launch, so changes are possible,” MacRumors said.
