Users of the chatbot ChatGPT complained that the AI began to show signs of “laziness”, refusing to respond to requests or becoming slower and less accurate, especially when asked to write program code. OpenAI developers confirmed the issue but don’t know what the problem is related to iXBT.
The developers claim that the last AI update was carried out on November 11 and complaints only started coming in after a while. This shows that the changes in the chatbot’s behavior are self-inflicted and not the result of the developers’ recent actions.
“To be clear, the point is not that the model has changed somehow since November 11,” the developers assure.
The creators of ChatGPT believe that the changes in AI behavior are minor and only affect some requests. They warned that it may take time to identify all the causes and fix the problem.
The company is actively looking for solutions to solve the problem, but so far no effective method or at least a workaround has been found.
