Microsoft announced the end of the Windows 10 lifecycle and the transition to a paid update model for this version of the operating system. Post this seen on the company’s blog.
Microsoft has officially confirmed that support for the Windows 10 operating system will end on October 14, 2025. After this date, users will be able to continue using their computers, but will need to upgrade to a paid Extended Security Update (ESU) subscription to receive security updates.
Microsoft will provide subscribers with security patches to protect against vulnerabilities, but will no longer add new features to Windows 10. The cost of subscribing to updates will be announced by the company later.
This measure is part of Microsoft’s strategy to ensure device security at the end of the standard support period. A similar program has already been implemented for Windows 7, whose users receive additional updates for three years after the end of mainstream support.
