An IT company Data East from Novosibirsk has developed an application for smartphones containing depth maps of reservoirs for fishermen. In this respect reports RIA News.
Maps of the reservoirs of the Perm Territory, Udmurtia and Chuvashia, the Republic of Mari El, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Rostov, Kostroma, Ivanovo and Nizhny Novgorod regions have already been developed for the application. They all work in offline mode, meaning they can be played without an internet connection. However, for this to happen, they need to be loaded into the phone’s memory when you first start the program.
Maps show bottom topography and depth information. This data allows fishermen to evaluate the fishing probability of a particular location.
The app also provides social functions. For example, you can mark your favorite places and routes on them and then share them with your friends.
Data East General Manager Vyacheslav Ananyev explained that he is an avid fisherman. His fishermen friends helped him draw depth charts.
