Samsung’s new budget smartphone will receive Snapdragon chip

The upcoming affordable smartphone Samsung Galaxy M55 will get the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The portal reports this MySmartPrice.

The information was confirmed after smartphone benchmark results appeared on the Geekbench database. This leak states that the Samsung device, codenamed SM-M556B, is powered by an Adreno 644 graphics chip and a processor with a maximum clock speed of 2.40 GHz. The hardware specifications show the use of Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and it has been used in smartphones such as Honor 90, Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi Civi 2 and others.

As a result of the tests, Galaxy M55 received 3575 points in Single Core modes and 11330 points in Multi-Core modes. Thanks to Geekbench, it has also been confirmed that 8 GB of RAM and Android 14 operating system are pre-installed.

Other features have not been announced yet. The launch date of Samsung Galaxy M55 is also unknown.

In mid-November, the affordable Galaxy M44 5G smartphone appeared on the Samsung website, equipped with the Snapdragon 888 chip used in the 2021 flagship devices. It looks like the company is planning to switch to Qualcomm’s more productive solutions rather than using custom Exynos chips in its budget smartphones.
