Windows editor-in-chief, Jez Corden, has some exciting news for Xbox fans. According to him, a new console is expected to be released in 2023 under the working name Keystone (commercial name may vary).
Its hallmark is that the console is “honed” for cloud gaming. In other words, it becomes an analog of a set-top box, just specific to Xbox Cloud Gaming. The issue price will be $ 100 (a little more than 6000 rubles at the current exchange rate) excluding the cost of a Game Pass subscription.
It is not yet clear what kind of image such a console can deliver. Xbox Cloud Gaming currently runs at 60 FPS at 1080p on PC. On mobile devices, the resolution is 720p at the same 60 FPS. The journalist also thinks that the device will receive pre-installed applications, including clients for Netflix and Disney + services.
In addition, Corden explained why the console will be released next year, although it was previously planned to release in 2022. The bottom line is that early prototypes were similar in design to the Series X, but then Xbox decided to change the look of the console.
