YouTube has introduced a new rule that requires bloggers to tag videos created using AI-generated content. In this respect reports Kotaku portal.
The new policy was introduced on YouTube’s official blog by the company’s vice presidents of product management, Jennifer Flannery O’Connor and Emily Moxley.
Judging by examples of videos using AI-generated content snippets published on the YouTube blog, the rule appears to be aimed at combating fake content. Specifically, deepfakes contain images that realistically depict fictional events, along with the image of a person doing or saying something they did not actually do or say.
YouTube’s statement also states that the platform has received the authority to remove some videos that use the created content and have the necessary mark. This fate will befall clips created with the help of artificial intelligence intended to incite hatred or display provocative violence.
Kotaku is skeptical that the new rule will be applied unconditionally, as YouTube is unlikely to have the tools to accurately identify created content.
