Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is planning to increase the price of its next flagship model to be released next year. The portal reports this My drivers.
At the presentation of Xiaomi 14 at the end of October, the company’s founder and CEO Lei Zun said that this is the company’s latest flagship and will be sold at a price of 4,000 yuan (about 50.3 thousand rubles). He later published a survey on his page on Chinese social network Weibo, in which he asked his subscribers whether they would be willing to pay more for the future Xiaomi 15 if it received new features, improved software and more expensive body materials.
Approximately 61 thousand votes were collected in the poll; While 37 thousand of them stated that they wanted to buy a more expensive smartphone, 23 thousand participants preferred to keep the price at the same level. Thus, the majority of users supported the idea of increasing the price of Xiaomi 15 compared to the current generation.
This is not the first increase in the cost of Xiaomi devices. The company’s first smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 1, released in 2011, was sold for 2,000 yuan (about 25.1 thousand rubles). This price tag remained for all flagships of the company for several years until the release of Xiaomi Mi 6, whose price increased to 2,500 yuan (about 31.5 thousand rubles). Subsequently, the company’s smartphones became more expensive every year, reaching a price tag of 4,000 yuan for the younger version.
