Users are reporting widespread outages on the Verizon network. Many of the victims have no signal on their phones. Instead of the usual antenna showing the connection quality, messages “No network” and “Emergency calls only” appeared on users’ screens.

According to Downdetector, those living in the eastern part of the United States mostly complain about communication issues, although some victims report a lack of network from other areas, including Dallas, Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

The outage also caused disruption to virtual operators using the Verizon network.

Verizon support at social network X (formerly Twitter) has yet to comment on the situation.

“You are currently experiencing a major outage in Provo, Utah. All of my friends’ and my devices are in “Emergency Calls Only” mode. I talked to 13 people I know.
