The popular Google Chrome browser has introduced a new feature that alerts users about the amount of RAM each tab is using. The portal reports this 9To5Google.

The innovation allows you to control the RAM consumption of each open tab in the browser; This helps users avoid computer slowdowns and system crashes.

The function is called Memory Usage (Russian – used memory). It is designed as a pop-up window with information about the amount of consumed RAM that the tab uses. You can check this data by hovering over each tab.

With Memory Usage, the user can determine which open pages consume the most device resources and close them if they are not needed. This will free up RAM and improve overall computer performance.

This feature was previously seen in beta versions of Google Chrome. This feature is now available to all users in the stable version of Google Chrome 119, which starts rolling out in November 2023.

Previously reported78 million Android smartphones will lose support for Google Chrome.
