Political ads supporting Israel’s attack on Palestine began to appear in mobile games for children. In this respect reports Reuters agency.
At least six similar cases are known, according to Reuters. These are all documented in the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Maria Julia Assis, who lives in London, told reporters that her six-year-old son came across one of these ads while playing puzzles on an Android smartphone. The clip showed terrified Israeli families, Hamas militants and blurred images of the aftermath of a terrorist attack. The announcement was submitted on behalf of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“He was shocked. He literally asked: ‘What are these ads doing in my game?’” recalls Assis.
In at least one case, advertising appeared in Rovio’s popular Angry Birds game. Rovio said that they did not know how the clip got into their projects, but they announced that they had strengthened the moderation of advertising content after this incident.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the video watched by a 6-year-old child in London was created by them. However, the department does not know how mobile games are infected and is alarmed by these incidents. Allegedly, advertising agencies were initially instructed not to place the clips on products aimed at people under 18.
