Apple has commissioned popular Hollywood directors like Jon Favreau to develop custom video content for the mixed reality headset. informs NYT.

It was noted that Favreau will transfer the documentary television series about dinosaurs, Prehistoric Planet, broadcast on the Apple TV + broadcasting platform, to virtual reality. The series premiered on May 23, 2022. The project was developed by the BBC Natural History Department and Hans Zimmer was responsible for the series’ soundtrack.

Jon Favreau is the producer of many projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Jungle Book, Star Wars series, and is best known for his role as Happy Hogan in the films Iron Man and Spider-Man.

The launch of the new device from Apple is scheduled for 2023. Currently, Apple has not shared details about the upcoming platform. The first official information is expected to emerge at the WWDC 2022 conference, which will begin on June 6 at 20:00 Moscow time.
