Xiaomi CEO Lei Zun announced the new operating system HyperOS, designed to be the successor to the popular MIUI shell. The portal reports this Home page.
“From today, we will slowly say goodbye to MIUI! Thanks to all friends who support MIUI. MIUI will remain in our memory forever,” said Lei Zun.
The company’s president completed the announcement with a photo he took with his Xiaomi 14 smartphone running HyperOS.
Previously, rumors were intensified on the Internet regarding Xiaomi’s new firmware, which will be called MiOS. It is possible that the company changed the name of the new operating system before the announcement.
A full presentation of HyperOS will take place on October 27, along with the new flagship smartphone series Xiaomi 14. According to company representatives, HyperOS firmware will gradually be rolled out to all Xiaomi devices, replacing MIUI.
It seems that Xiaomi plans to repeat the success of Huawei, combining its devices into a single ecosystem of the HarmonyOS operating system.
Xiaomi was founded on April 6, 2010. Its first product was the Android-based MIUI firmware. Its release took place in August of the same year, and the company’s first smartphone Xiaomi Mi 1 was released only in August 2011.
Previously Xiaomi presented Large TV with 4K display at 120 Hz for gamers.
