Enthusiast and YouTube channel writer Mark Korolev tested modern PC games God of War (2018) and Mortal Kombat XL on a smartphone with a Qualcomm chip. The portal drew attention to this rosetked.
For the experiment, Mark Korolev used an unnamed flagship smartphone with the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, but the result turned out to be controversial. The device was able to run God of War (2018), but the game runs at a maximum frame rate of 15 FPS.
2016’s fighting game Mortal Kombat XL performs much better, sometimes even hitting over 60 frames per second. However, drops below 30 FPS also occur.
It was noted that the enthusiast used the Termux-Box program to emulate computer games on a smartphone.
This is not Mark Korolev’s first experience launching games on an Android smartphone. He has previously shown how Skyrim, Fallout 4, GTA 4 and 5, as well as Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag work. Not all of these games showed stable performance and were launched using Termux-Box and Winlator emulators.
