Electronic repair experts and YouTube channel creators NorthWestRepair published Video report on restoring the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 Founders Edition graphics card. It turned out that the reason it did not work was a dried bug that clogged the graphics processor’s contacts.
The video card was brought to the service center by a customer who bought it for promotional purposes and without a warranty. According to him, the video card was completely new, but it was not displaying any image on the screen. At the same time, the graphics card fans were running at full power.
NorthWestRepair engineers diagnosed the video card and found no damage or short circuits on the printed circuit board. They decided to test the GPU, which is the core component of the video card. To do this, they removed the AD102 chip using special equipment and found a dried bug underneath.
After removing the bug and cleaning the contacts, engineers tested the chip by reattaching it to the video card. The device booted up successfully and showed good results in the 3DMark test. The video card was returned to the customer in good condition.
