Apple may launch new 24-inch iMacs with 2M and 2M Pro processors by the end of October 2023. In this respect reports MacRumors publication, citing Japanese source Mac Otakara.
According to Mac Otakara, Apple will introduce two versions of the iMac with different processors. In addition to the new chips, all-in-one PCs will also receive Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support, as well as Thunderbolt 4 ports.
In its decision, Mac Otakara cites increased delivery times for the iMac of the current revision. At some Apple Stores in the US, wait times are reaching a month. When Apple reduces production of a product, delivery times often increase significantly. A decrease in production, as a rule, indicates that an updated version of the device will soon be released.
MacRumors believes this insider should be taken with a grain of salt because there is information that both confirms and refutes it. For example, Chinese analyst Ming-Chi Kuo does not rule out the release of a new iMac this year. On the contrary, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes that the new iMacs will be powered by the M3 processor and will therefore go on sale in 2024.
Currently, the newest iMac is the 2021 model with the M1 processor.
