As part of the Made By Google 23 presentation, Google introduced its second generation branded smart watch, Pixel Watch 2. reports The Verge’s edition.
From the outside, the new device is no different from the original smart watch. However, the interior of the new product has received many changes. The original Pixel Watch, for example, runs on the older Exynos 9110 processor, which, while powerful, isn’t very energy efficient. Second-generation watches have already moved to the more advanced 4-nanometer Snapdragon W5+ Gen1 chip. The processor is supported by 2 GB RAM.
At the same time, the battery capacity increased to 306 mAh. Your watch should now run for 24 hours on a single charge, even with the Always On Display feature enabled. Pixel Watch 2 charges relatively quickly: 30 minutes is enough for 12 hours of use.
The display is a circular 1.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 384 x 384 pixels. New dials have emerged.
Pixel Watch 2 features improved optical heart rate and blood oxygen sensors. During intense workouts, the new multi-beam heart rate monitor operates at 40% capacity because it measures heart rate from multiple points on the wrist simultaneously.
The new watch also differs from the original watch by the presence of the UWB chip. It allows the device to accurately track the location of other devices with a similar module.
Pixel Watch 2 was also the first watch to support Wear OS 4. It is unknown how long this privilege will last.
Pixel Watch 2 can already be purchased in the USA at a price of $ 350 for the version without LTE (about 35 thousand rubles at the exchange rate of October 4, 2023) and $ 400 with the eSIM module (about 40 thousand rubles).
