Ben Shun, editor of 9to5Google, an English publication about Google gadgets, published a review of the iPhone 15 Pro. listed The main pros and cons of the new product from the point of view of the regular user of smartphones running Android.
The main advantage of the new Apple smartphone for Shun was the appearance of a USB-C connector. According to him, this gives the device versatility – there is no longer a need for an additional cable in the living room, bedroom, backpack and car.
The action button also pleased the journalist. According to him, this is a simple and ingenious discovery, which, unfortunately, has not yet been implemented by Android smartphone manufacturers.
Shun also praised the new iMessage in iOS 17, the quick installation of apps from the App Store, and the more convenient password autofill system compared to Android.
The 9to5Google editor mostly cited the iOS desktop as its shortcomings. Shun was especially annoyed that all new applications were automatically downloaded to the desktop in a chaotic manner. The journalist was also angry about the lack of a dashboard at the bottom of the screen, where icons of the most used utilities can be displayed. He also did not like the lack of the ability to quickly change the wallpaper on the desktop without going to the settings.
Separately, Shun implemented Always On Display (AOD) on the iPhone. Unlike Android smartphones, iPhones do not disable colorful wallpapers when AOD is enabled. This constantly caused the journalist to fear that he had forgotten to lock the screen.
Shun also didn’t like the built-in keyboard in iOS. He was particularly annoyed by the lack of punctuation on the utility’s home page.
The journalist promised to update the list of pros and cons of the iPhone as its service life increases.
