Operators respond to FAS’s position on the abolition of Internet distribution fees

Cellular operator Beeline said that it will review documents from the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) regarding the need to cancel paid distribution of Internet traffic from smartphones. In this respect reports TASS cited a message from the company’s press service.

“We have not yet received any relevant documents from the FAS. “We will examine what they are doing,” the company said.

The operator’s representative stated that he did not have the opportunity to comment more concretely at this time.

MTS and MegaFon also told the agency that they have not yet received a documentary warning from the FAS.

The reaction of Beeline, MTS and MegaFon came shortly after the FAS compulsory Russian mobile operators will cancel fees for distributing Internet traffic. The service ruled that MTS, Megafon, Beeline and Tele2 impose negative terms of the contract on the provision of communication services to subscribers by setting fees for distributing the Internet from mobile devices.
