Sales of the iPhone 12 in France may soon stop due to dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the smartphone. In this respect reports Reuters agency cited the words of French Deputy Minister of Digital Economy Jean-Noël Barrot.

Experts from the French radio frequencies regulatory authority (ANFR) detected high levels of electromagnetic radiation from the iPhone 12. ANFR laboratory tests showed that the smartphone emits 5.74 watts of energy per kilogram, while the legal limit is 4 watts per kilogram.

Barro noted that the problem can be solved with a software update. France gave Apple exactly two weeks to develop and release the firmware. If the American IT giant does not do this, Barro promised to ban the sale of the iPhone 12 and recall copies already sold.

Apple did not comment on the current situation at the time of publication.

Previously Apple presented iPhone 15 and new generation watches.
