Sber will complete the system of recording and tracking Amur tigers together with partners from the Amur Tiger Center and the Far Eastern Federal University, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank Alexander Vedyakhin said at EEF 2023.

“Sber participates in another important environmental project – stabilizing the population of the king of the taiga and one of the main symbols of the Far East. Together with partners from the Amur Tiger Center and FEFU, we will complete an innovative system for recording and monitoring Amur tigers; this system will become a unified system for storing and processing data on this Red Book animal of great importance in the future. for the entire ecosystem of the region,” Vedyakhin said.

The parties to the agreement plan to jointly create a recognition system to more effectively record the Amur tiger population. Even today, using computer vision algorithms and a biometric approach, the system is capable of detecting the Amur tiger using images from camera traps.

Additionally, Sberbank and the Amur Tiger Center signed a bilateral cooperation agreement on the development of an Amur tiger recognition system that regulates the details of the interaction between the parties.
