A student studying at school number 8 in Dmitrov, near Moscow, had his smartphone spontaneously ignite in his hand while playing the online shooter game PUBG Mobile. In this respect reports Telegram channel “Attention, Moscow”.
The incident occurred on the morning of September 11, 2023. Eyewitnesses recorded the incident on video and published it. The footage shows a young man squeezing through the crowd of students and making his way towards the exit, holding a smoking device on the edge of the book cover.
“Eyewitnesses say that panic began among the children, they left the school, classes had just finished at that time. Witnesses say the girl went to play PUBG, an online shooter, before the smartphone started emitting smoke,” writes “Attention, Moscow.”
PUBG Mobile is a performance-intensive online game released in 2018. In one of the modes, 100 players land on an island and try to survive by hiding in the increasingly narrow safe zone. The only player left alive wins.
