At the end of the summer, WhatsApp began rolling out video messages to the messaging app, which seemed objectionable to a large number of users. Now the developers will let you disable the new feature, informs portal 9to5mac.

The function of saving video messages, also known as “Circles”, works in WhatsApp and Telegram – you need to press and hold the corresponding button. Despite the fact that many were waiting for the appearance of this feature, users began to make big complaints about the novelty, as they began to accidentally send video messages to their interlocutors instead of the usual voice messages.

To avoid such situations, the developers will allow you to turn off video message recording in future WhatsApp updates. In the latest beta versions of WhatsApp for Android and iOS, a corresponding section has already appeared in the messaging settings.

After the user deactivates the recording of the “circles”, the microphone icon will return to its normal place and the voice message will be recorded when pressed. Users who have disabled the function will continue to receive and view video messages from their interlocutors.

Previously reportedIt is stated that WhatsApp is preparing a large-scale redesign on Android.
