Almost half (45%) of teachers in Russia admitted that digital communication tools (messengers) allow them to motivate students. This is evidenced by the data of a study conducted by the Educational Institute of the National Research University of the Higher School of Economics with the support of the Sferum educational service at the disposal of socialbites.ca.

“More than half (56%) of educators actively use instant messaging programs throughout their school life, not just to keep parents informed and not only about their children’s grades,” the survey states.

At the same time, 35% of teachers said that digital communication gave them the feeling that their parents heard them, and the need for such communication has increased since the beginning of the epidemic.

According to research, teachers spend an average of just over 7 hours a week communicating with parents, students, and colleagues; 6 of them are remote. In addition, 15% of the participants continue to conduct the courses remotely.

In total, teachers spend about 11 hours a week working with digital devices: 96% of respondents use computers in their weekly professional activities, 90% use phones, 82% use electronic diaries, and only 31% use interactive whiteboards.

The majority (60%) believe technology improves the quality of education, while 55% believe it allows them to do more more effectively. In addition, more than half of the participants (57%) stated that digital devices allow them to better organize their daily lives, 24% reduce their workload and 18% reduce their stress.
