Chinese smartphones accounted for more than 75% of total device shipments to Russia in 2023. In this respect informs TASS cites a statement made by Dmitry Nikitin, head of the IT sector development department of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation, during the RuStore conference for foreign developers.
In total, according to the Ministry of Digital Development, in the second quarter of 2023, 5.5 million smartphones were supplied to the Russian market with a total amount of 135 billion rubles. Quantitatively, this result is 34% higher than the same period last year.
“If you look at the statistics of this year, according to various estimates, more than 75% of the devices supplied to the Russian market are, of course, from China,” said Nikitin from TASS.
Nikitin also noted that Chinese applications and games are widely represented on such smartphones in Russia. The Ministry of Digital Development believes that these facts speak of great hopes for the further development of Chinese developers’ business in Russia.
