More than half (58%) of Russian gamers admitted that they faced reproaches from their loved ones because of their passion for video games. This is stated in a study by an online school in the field of game development XYZ School, which is part of the Ultimate Education training company, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
According to the results of the survey, the actors are mostly criticized by the parents, and 30% of the respondents agree with this. 16% of the respondents complained about the reproaches from the older generation, and 7% from their friends and distant relatives. Only 5% of players receive criticism from their partner or spouse.
Most respondents want their loved ones’ attitudes towards video games to change. That is, 21% of players expect an unbiased attitude, while 17% expect a positive assessment of their hobby. At the same time, 20% dream that their relatives will not only enjoy but also benefit from the games. As 10% of the participants admit, they want to share their hobbies with their loved ones.
At the same time, 29% of respondents said that their loved ones don’t even try to understand video games. Another 24% of players surveyed said such attempts were successful but not successful. However, 47% of gamers said their loved ones changed their minds positively after trying to understand the games.
